Emergency Dentistry in Side, Antalya: Fast and Reliable Care

Dental First Aid: What to Do Before You Reach Us

These step-by-step first-aid instructions can help minimize damage while you're on your way to Inter Dental Turkey in Side, Antalya. Time is critical in most dental emergencies — follow these steps and contact us immediately.

Severe Toothache Relief

A sudden, intense toothache can signal deep decay, a cracked root, or an emerging abscess. Here's how to manage the pain until you reach our emergency dentist in Side:

  1. Rinse your mouth with warm salt water (½ tsp salt in 250 ml water)
  2. Gently floss around the tooth to remove any trapped debris
  3. Apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek (10 min on, 10 min off)
  4. Take an over-the-counter pain reliever — do NOT place aspirin directly on the gum
  5. Contact us immediately for a same-day appointment

Broken or Chipped Tooth

Whether caused by biting on something hard or an accident, a broken tooth needs professional repair. Depending on severity, treatment options include dental crowns, bonding, or veneers.

  1. Save any broken pieces and rinse them gently with water
  2. Rinse your mouth with warm water to clean the area
  3. If bleeding, apply gentle pressure with gauze for 10 minutes
  4. Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling
  5. Cover sharp edges with dental wax or sugar-free gum temporarily
  6. Visit our clinic as soon as possible — bring the broken pieces

Knocked-Out (Avulsed) Tooth

A completely knocked-out permanent tooth can often be saved if treated within 30–60 minutes. If re-implantation fails, our clinic offers dental implant solutions as a long-term replacement.

  1. Pick up the tooth by the crown only — never touch the root
  2. Gently rinse with milk or saline (do NOT scrub or use soap)
  3. Try to reinsert the tooth into the socket and hold it in place by gently biting on gauze
  4. If reinsertion isn't possible, store the tooth in milk or saline
  5. Get to our clinic within 30 minutes — success rates are highest in the first hour

Dental Abscess / Tooth Infection

A dental abscess is a pocket of pus caused by bacterial infection. Left untreated, it can spread to the jaw, head, or neck and become life-threatening. This is a true dental emergency.

  1. Rinse with warm salt water several times a day to draw pus to the surface
  2. Do NOT try to pop or drain the abscess yourself
  3. Take over-the-counter pain relief and stay hydrated
  4. If you have fever, facial swelling, or difficulty breathing — seek care immediately
  5. Contact our clinic — abscesses require professional drainage and antibiotics

Lost Filling or Crown

A lost or dislodged filling or dental crown exposes sensitive tooth structure and needs prompt re-cementation or replacement.

  1. Save the crown or filling if possible
  2. Apply clove oil to the exposed area to reduce pain (available at most pharmacies)
  3. Use temporary dental cement or sugar-free gum to cover the area
  4. Avoid chewing on that side
  5. Visit us to have the restoration properly replaced or repaired

Cut Lip, Tongue, or Gum Injury

Oral soft tissue injuries from falls, bites, or sports accidents can bleed heavily but usually respond well to first aid. Our oral surgery team can handle complex lacerations.

  1. Rinse gently with warm salt water
  2. Apply firm pressure with clean gauze or a wet tea bag for 15 minutes
  3. Apply a cold compress to the outside of the mouth to reduce swelling
  4. If bleeding doesn't stop after 20 minutes, come to our clinic or visit the nearest ER
