Restorative Dentistry

Restorative Dentistry

We offer the most advanced solutions in modern dentistry to restore both the aesthetics and functionality of your smile. Restorative dentistry aims to rebuild teeth that have been damaged by decay, trauma, wear, or aging, by perfectly mimicking their natural structure.

Unhealthy or damaged teeth do not just cause aesthetic concerns; they also disrupt your chewing function, which can lead to digestive issues and the shifting of surrounding teeth. At our clinic in Side, Antalya, we always view tooth extraction as an absolute last resort. We mobilize all our restorative resources and use biocompatible materials to save your natural teeth.

Our Key Restorative Treatments

1. Aesthetic Composite Fillings (White Fillings)

Using composite materials that perfectly match your natural tooth color, we remove the decay and restore the tooth to its original anatomical shape. Thanks to advanced bonding technology, our fillings are highly resistant to chewing forces and look completely natural. Additionally, we can safely replace your old, dark amalgam (metal) fillings with aesthetic composite fillings in just a single visit.

2. Porcelain Inlay and Onlay Restorations (Partial Crowns)

Inlays and onlays are the ideal solution for teeth that have suffered too much damage for a standard filling, but still retain enough healthy tissue that a full crown isn't necessary. Using digital impressions, your restorations are milled from high-quality porcelain or zirconium blocks in a laboratory setting. These restorations maximize the preservation of your healthy tooth structure, create perfect contact points with adjacent teeth, and offer a lifelong, stain-resistant solution.

3. Post-Core Build-Up Treatment

If a tooth has experienced extensive tissue loss in its visible part (the crown) following a root canal, a standard filling will not be able to withstand everyday chewing forces. In such cases, we must rely on the root canals to support the tooth from the inside. A Post-Core build-up is an advanced support system placed inside the healthy root canal, acting as a strong foundational pillar for the final crown (zirconium, e-max, or porcelain) that will be placed over it.

  • Extends the Tooth's Lifespan: It saves severely weakened teeth from extraction, eliminating the need for dental implants.
  • Fiber Post Technology: Instead of outdated metal posts that cause a dark, metallic reflection under the gums, we use modern "Fiber Posts." These adapt perfectly to the natural flexibility of the tooth and provide excellent aesthetic results.
  • Reduces the Risk of Fracture: It prevents root fractures by distributing chewing forces evenly along the root.

Frequently Asked Questions

+ How long does restorative dental treatment take?
It varies depending on the type of procedure. Aesthetic composite fillings are usually completed in a single session lasting 30-45 minutes. Inlay/Onlay or Post-Core procedures (along with the final crown) require laboratory manufacturing, so the process typically takes 3 to 5 days over 2-3 sessions.
+ Will I feel pain while the post-core is being placed?
Absolutely not. The tooth receiving the post-core has already undergone a root canal treatment, meaning the infected nerve tissues have been removed. Since there are no living nerve cells left inside the tooth, you will not feel any pain or sensitivity during the placement of the post, the impression process, or the cementing of the crown.
+ Should I get a filling, an onlay, or a crown?
Our expert dentists will make this decision based on the amount of tissue loss in your tooth after a detailed X-ray and clinical examination. Our goal is always to preserve healthy tooth structure. If the loss is minimal, a filling is suitable; if it's moderate, a porcelain onlay; and if the tooth walls are too weak to withstand pressure, a post-supported zirconium or e-max crown will be the safest medical solution.
+ How long do restorations (fillings/posts) last?
The world-class materials we use are highly durable. However, as with all dental treatments, the longevity of a restoration directly depends on your oral hygiene habits. As long as you brush regularly twice a day, use dental floss, and do not skip your 6-month routine clinical check-ups, you can safely use your post-core supported crowns or porcelain restorations for 10-15 years or more.
+ Can I easily get these treatments done during my holiday in Antalya?
Yes! For our international patients, we organize the treatment plan to perfectly match your holiday schedule. Restorative procedures will not restrict your daily life or vacation. After your impressions are taken, you will leave our clinic with temporary teeth, allowing you to enjoy the sea and sun without losing your freedom to eat and drink. Once your permanent teeth are ready, you will only need to stop by for a short cementing session.
